What is this meditation about:
YOU ARE AS IMPORTANT AS OTHERS, YOU MATTER FIRST. Sometimes we tend to forget that we are important too. It’s great to take care of others, to give all you have to your loved ones, to make sacrifices for good reasons, but what is not okay is you letting yourself with no care or compassion for your own.
To make it as simple as possible, let’s take an example. You are on a plane, the emergency signal is on, the oxygen masks drop. If you listened to the emergency landing announcements, you are meant to put your mask first before taking care of your children or others on board the aircraft. It is exactly the same with yourself on a daily basis. If you don’t take care of yourself, how can you take care of others?
When people talk about self-love, the concept itself is often misunderstood. Self-love is not the same as narcissism, or having a big ego. It doesn’t mean you are the smartest, most talented, and most beautiful person in the world. Self-love means taking care of your own needs, your own well-being and happiness, and not sacrificing yourself to please others. It means accepting your weaknesses, your flaws, your body, having compassion for yourself and everything that makes you who you are. It means accepting your emotions for what they are and putting your physical, emotional and mental well-being first.
Self-love is important to maintain a healthy relationship with yourself as it produces positive feelings and boosts your confidence and self-esteem. Self-love is critical for happiness in your life. When you practice self-love, it is a deliberate act, you are the one deciding to take care of yourself, to be compassionate with yourself, to trust yourself, to accept yourself, to love yourself without restrictions or judgmental thoughts. By doing so, you will open up to all things that matter to you and that make you happy. This is the path to happiness. You cannot be happy if you don’t start by loving yourself.

1. You liberate yourself from comparisons.
2. You experience life in alignment to your values.
3. You become confident.
4. You increase your resilience to challenges.
5. You maintain healthy relationships, with yourself included.
WHAT ARE THE SIGNS YOU LACK SELF-LOVE?
Do you feel unlovable?
Do you hide your true self from others?
Do you lack confidence?
Are you needy? (Constantly looking for a lot of attention, affection, and affirmations)
Do you overanalyse your own behaviour?
Do you fear being judged by others?
Do you feel inferior to others?
Do you settle for less than what you can achieve?
Do you have difficult and unstable relationships?
Those are the main signs of someone lacking self-love. Do not be scared on accepting this lack of self-love. It can happen to everyone. It did to me, and with a lot of work I’ve changed over the years, and I can now say I love myself for who I am. And if I did succeed, it means you can do it as well.
